For friends who often smoke, do you know the impact of smoking on dental and oral health?
If not, let’s look at the impact of smoking on oral health.

1.Dental caries

One the problems that can arise from smoking is dental caries or cavities. The content of nicotine and tar in cigarettes can
cause damage to the lining of the teeth.  This content can reduce the production of saliva, so that the mouth feels dry and it is easier for bacteria to breed.
In addition, the nicotine content can also exacerbate the accumulation of cariogenic bacteria which can lead to caries. Dry mouth plus lots of caries can cause bad breath problems.

2. Tartar

Another problem that arises is tartar. This is caused by the continuous accumulation of bacteria, within a certain time tartar occurs so that is looks brownish yellow which is firmly attached.

Smoking can also cause inflammation of the gum tissue or periodontitis. Periodontitis is characterizid by pain when chewing, gums cooming out of fluid, and rheumatic pain when worn.
