1. Conventional braces
Metal braces are probably the type that most people use to improve the condition of their teeth. Conventional types of braces feel heavy at the beginning of installation, this means that the braces are working to apply pressure so that the teeth can move to an ideal position.
These braces are quite effective in dealing with teeth and jaw problems. Apart from that, the tooth brackets in conventional stirrup types are also available in a variety of colors that you can choose according to your taste
2. Transparent stirrup (clean aligner)
Transparent braces or also known as belt aligners are a new breakthrough in the world of dentistry using 3D technology.
This type of stirrup is effective enough to straighten your teeth so that they are aligned. The duration of treatment usually takes 3-9 months or it can take longer depending on the condition of your teeth.
3. Ceramic braces
Another type of braces that you can choose if you don't want to have a too flashy appearance are ceramic braces. The ceramic used for dental brackets is usually clear in color or similar to the color of the teeth. So, this stirrup is like only showing the wire.
Unfortunately, ceramic braces can change color over time, especially if you frequently consume foods or drinks that can cause tooth stains such as coffee and tea.
4. Lingual braces
This type of lingual braces does not reveal the appearance of your braces from the outside at all because they are located at the back of the teeth.
Its function is actually the same as ordinary braces, but the price is much more expensive than metal and ceramic braces. This is because the installation is much more complicated. Also, this type may not be suitable for those of you who have small teeth, because it has the potential to block your tongue.
5. Self-ligating (damon) braces
Basically damon or self-ligating braces have a similar appearance to conventional braces. But the difference is, this type of braces does not use elastic rubber, but special clips to hold the position of the steel wires on each tooth bracket.
The clip can minimize friction and make it easier for you to brush your teeth during this orthodontic treatment procedure. The pain caused is claimed to be lighter than the conventional type.
